With the holiday season behind and the economy still on its head, many Seymour residents are taking advantage of whatever discounts are available.
One of the more common ways consumers are bringing their ends to meet is by participating in discount gasoline purchases offered by local grocery chains such as Kroger.
However, a New Year change in a discount policy soon brought about a unique situation for one resident.
“We spent enough in December to get 2,000 points so we could $2 per gallon off of our gas in my wife’s vehicle,” said Seymour resident Jim McKesson.
Yet, when McKesson went to fill-up the 35 gallon gas tank the first week of January, he was disappointed to discover he was only offered a $1 per gallon discount.
