The Sevier County Commission came to a nearly split vote regarding the purchase of a large portion of property to be used to develop an Industrial Park Dec. 17.

The proposal called for the purchased of about 115 acres of property along Synder Rd.

Currently owned by Ken Whaley, a former Sevier County Commissioner, the sale price of the property was set at $65,000 per acre for an estimated total of $7,338,500.
