The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a driver who struck two children riding in their go-kart and then fled the scene Dec. 16.

According to the initial investigation, a male juvenile and his female juvenile passenger were traveling westbound on Henry Haynes Rd. in South Knox County in their go-kart shortly before 8 p.m.  When they turned onto Babs Rd, a car traveling from Babs Rd. attempted to turn onto Henry Haynes Rd. and struck the front of the go-kart.

The driver of the car, who is believed to be a male, fled the scene.

Both children were transported to UT Hospital by Rural Metro for non-life-threatening injuries.
