A familiar and successful business in Seymour is in the process of changing owners for the start of next year.

Downtown Auto Body Manager Monty Jones said he has moved forward on a proposal to purchase the business from current owner Mike Clark.

“It has always been a dream of mine to own a shop,” Jones said. “This is a family project. My wife Beverly and my son Mitchell will be going on this adventure with me.”

Jones, who has worked for Downtown Auto Body since the business first opened in Seymour in 2009, said Clark decided to sell the business because he has become busy with the new Downtown Auto Body shop recently opened in Maryville.
