As a victim of a poor transportation system, South Knoxville has suffered in many ways.
Most notably is the dangerous and unsatisfactory stretch of Chapman Hwy. that serves to connect the area to downtown Knoxville on the northern side and Seymour to the South.
Additionally, Chapman Hwy. is the only main road motorist can use to reach I-40.
