After US Representative Tim Murphy (PA-18) announced his intention to step down as Co-Chair of the House GOP Doctors Caucus at the start of the 113th Congress, the open position left a much needed space to fill.

Assuming Murphy’s role as Co-Chair will be US Representative Dr. Phil Roe (TN-1), who serves Seymour as part of the First District.

“I am honored to serve as Co-Chair of the Doctors Caucus for the 113th Congress,” Roe said. “As a physician for more than 30 years, I know the complexities of our healthcare system, and because of Tennessee’s experience with TennCare, I am keenly aware of what happens when you simply expand coverage without addressing the cost of medical care.”

Roe added he has worked with current Co-Chair US Representative Dr. Phil Gingrey (GA-11) on behalf of the GOP Doctors Caucus and looks forward to continuing that relationship.
