The Maryville College men’s basketball earned their second  consecutive victory and their first in USA South history with an 86-72  win over North Carolina Wesleyan College on Sunday afternoon in MC’s  Boydson Baird Gymnasium.MC hit 7-of-18 three pointers in the first half and tallied 37 of  their first period points from a strong bench effort.

The Scots’ strong  offensive board presence led by Jaumonee Byrd added 11 second chance points and allowed Maryville to take a 47-37 lead into the break.

The Bishops closed the gap in the second half on 41 percent shooting, mostly  attacking the basket in the paint.

At the 8:47 mark, a Jaumonee Byrd  offensive rebound and basket tied the game for the fifth and final time 64-64.
