With another economic disaster looming if the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and Democratic President Barack Obama cannot come to an agreement before the end of the congressional year, many residents are looking to their local legislators for a solution.
As a way of reaching out to his constituents, US Representative Phil Roe, who represents Seymour as part of Tennessee’s First District, held a press conference Nov. 29.
“Fiscal cliff negotiations are going on behind closed doors and I’m not part of it,” he explained.
Roe said there are several possible scenarios that could occur from the final results, but he knows of nothing that has been solidified yet.
