The Tennessee Department of Transportation began local road improvements for two intersections on Chapman Hwy. Nov. 26.

“We’re basically adding some much need left turn lanes to the two White School Rd. intersections,” explained TDOT Communications Relations Officer Mark Nagi. “There will be a full time lane closure in the southbound direction from November 26 to December 21.”

The project was contracted to Charles Blalock & Sons, Inc. for $228,796.69.

During the time frame that the southbound land is closed, the contractor expects to have the new lanes excavated, stone and asphalt course finished or at least to a safe drop off condition of one and one-fourth and inch to allow for the concrete barrier rail to be permanently removed.
