At its 44th Annual Conference in Kingsport, Tennessee, the County Officials Association of Tennessee honored State Senator Doug Overbey (R-Maryville) as Senator of the Year.
“This was a pleasant surprise to say the least, “he said. “County officials are on the front lines of constituent service and deal with a diverse set of conditions at the local level. I’ll continue working to make sure they have the support and resources they need to be successful here in Tennessee.”
Overbey, who represents Seymour as part of his district, was selected by COAT for this honor because of his Legislature and continued support of county officials throughout Tennessee.
COAT is the statewide association representing county clerks, court clerks, registers of deeds, and county trustees.
Overbey, served on the Finance, Ways & Means Committee in the Senate during the 107th General Assembly.
