The missing grate that left a sewer exposed in the Macon Ln. Shopping Center has been replaced.
Sevier County Sheriff Department Captain Michael Hodges said a report was not filed about the open sewer and the responsibility to fix it is up to the owner of the private property.
“I can’t generate a call because we don’t have a victim,” he explained. “The theft needs to be reported by the owner.”
Hodges added the problem of stolen sewer grates is not new to the county.
