Whether it is due to the poor economy, the end of the local United Way, or any other possible reason, it seems Thanksgiving Day charities are down in the area.
Representatives from both Seymour First Baptist Church and United Methodist Church said they will not be having a charity dinner benefit for the less fortunate.
Both churches did however host Thanksgiving Dinner the weekend before the holiday.
Additionally, CROSS Ministries President Buddy Greene said there weren’t enough funds to have a charity Thanksgiving dinner for Seymour residents.
