As a star pitcher for the Seymour Eagle’s softball team, signing with a college team was not only inevitable, but also a dream come true for Carly Lewis.

“I’ve worked for this for a long time,” Lewis said at the signing. “I’ve been playing since I was six years old and playing for a college team has always been one of my dreams.”
Lewis, who signed to Georgia College and State University Nov. 15, has an impressive resume of athletic, academic, and community service accomplishments.

In addition to be being on the 2012-2013 National Honors Society, Lewis also won Best in Show at the 2012 Sevier County Student Art among other notable feats.

Although Lewis’ achievements all exhibit a rare level of maturity, she said much of her work ethic comes from doing pitching exercises with her father as a young girl.
