For many seniors a pet may be their only companion to keep them company throughout the day, but went food becomes scare a whole slew of problems are created.
“We heard from the Seiver County Senior Citizens’ Home that residents would feed their pet and then they wouldn’t eat,” said Boyds Creek Animal Hospital Office Manager Jenny Wlas.
Since then, the local animal hospital has held six successful pet food drives and is currently in the process of their seventh.
The pet food drive began Oct. 1 and will run until Dec. 15.
