The Sevierville Chamber of Commerce honored four deceased Sevierville citizens with the John Sevier Award during a special ceremony at the Sevierville Visitor Center.
To qualify for the award, recipients must have passed away during the last year, been a member of the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce during their lifetime and made a major impact on our community.
The fifth annual John Sevier Award recipients are Alma Curtis, Reese Marshall Ripatti, Claude Oliver Ownby, Jr. and Mr. Michael Lynn Rawlings.
Recipients were all posthumously recognized for their service to our community during their lives at the recent Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet. The presentation ceremony paid tribute to the recipients by dedicating a tree in their honor at the Sevierville Visitor Center.
