Hurricane Sandy devastated much of the East Coast last week and area locals are helping with the restoration.

Seymour First Baptist Church took up an offering last Sunday for the Southern Baptist Convention in an effort to help the hurricane Sandy Victims. Church Administrator Carolyn McCammon shared how pleased she was with the amount of support the congregation offered.

“The Pastor just announced on Sunday morning, we didn’t know ahead of time,” she said. “We managed to get more than $2,000 for the cause.”
