With crashing economy and the rapid development of technology, computer skills continue to prove to be a marketable talent for any employee. To give area residents a change to hone or improve upon these necessary skills, a round of free career center classes is being offered at Walters State Community College.
Individuals can learn computer skills or have a free 30-minute consultation with a professional career counselor during November at Tennessee Career Centers. All classes are free to participants and funded through a partnership between Walters State Community College and the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Reservations are requested.
The Tennessee Career Center at Talbott is located in the Alpha Square Shopping Center on West Andrew Johnson Hwy. Workshops planned there in November include Job Readiness, Computer Literacy, and Electronic Business Project Management.
Of the variety of computer skills taught internet basics, resume development, and electronic spreadsheets will open up the world of business to many potential job seekers.
