With only one week left until Election Day, every political campaign is in full swing and many Seymour residents have taken advantage of early voting opportunities.

Sevier County election officials have estimated they have seen about 1,000 voters a day. Since last week the number of early voters has doubled. The first week vote totaled 4,061 and this week 8,439 votes were counted. Sevier has seen more than 12,500 voters as of Oct.  29.

Knox County early voters came out in full force with 75,666 votes just this past week. Last week Knox County had 8,024 early voters, with the total thus far at 83,690. The totals in Knox County have seen growth at a rate of about ten times within the last week.
