This week Blalock and Sons crews began the final strides of Phase Two for the Highway 66 construction.
In addition to paving base layers of asphalt mix for the inside lanes, the installation of permanent signs and final surface course paving began.
Phase Two, which covers Douglas Dam to south of the I-40 exchange, will implement traffic stops Nov. 1 between 6 and 8 p.m. The traffic stops will allow for the paving train to pull through the intersection and will occur in 20 minute intervals.
