Ed. note: The subject of Our Smokies, Our Future and those who are against the process has been a topic we have reported on for some time. As the story continues to evolve, the Herald felt it would be best to publish a multi-part series in order to provide the community with in-depth coverage.
Whether opposed to or supportive of, everybody who has joined the discussion regarding Our Smokies, Our Future and its role in Sevier County has claimed local residency with the exception of the facilitator of the group, Gianni Longo.
Longo is an architect by trade and a Principal of a nationally recognized New York City based firm called ACP Visioning and Planning.
One of the key components of ACP has to do with Smart Growth and New Urbanization. Although Longo has received praise from many of the visioning groups he has worked with across the county, those opposed to OSOF see Longo as an instrumental developer for the local implantation of the United Nations Agenda 21 program.

Gianno said he has no opinion on Agenda 21, and he has no interest in that type of broad, unspecific and generic program. This contradictory statement alone indicates he can’t be trusted.
He did not try to debunk A-21, meaning he’s fully aware of it. Plus, the technique he’s using in implementing OSOF and other cities come right out of of the A-21 handbook–broad, unspecific and generic “ideas” to build consensus
