Under the guidance of first year Coach Erin Biddle, the Seymour Lady Eagle volleyball team has clinched a spot in the Region 1-AAA volleyball tournament. The Lady Eagles defeated the Morristown East lady Hurricanes 3-1 recently in the semi-finals of the District 2-AAA tournament hosted by Seymour High School.
The Lady Eagles earned that honor by being the number one seed in the district tournament based on their regular season IMAC record. Coach Biddle who is only 23 years old also received the honor of “IMAC Coach of the Year” award.
The district tournament is a double elimination tournament and the Lady Eagles suffered their first defeat a couple of days earlier to Morristown East after they had beaten Cherokee the night before.
In the semi-final match against Morristown East, Seymour took the early advantage with a first gave win of 25-20.
