AT&T* Tennessee will unveil its 2013 Tennessee African-American History Calendar on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The calendar profiles individuals and institutions that have contributed to the lives of Tennesseans and will be distributed to middle school students across the state at no cost in January 2013.

The unveiling of the calendar will take place at 6 p.m. on the 27th floor of the AT&T Tennessee headquarters in Nashville. The invitation-only event is open to media. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Interviews will be offered from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and following the event.

Nashvillians who will be honored and are scheduled to attend include:

  • Andre, Kevin and Keith Churchwell – brothers who have been named among the “Best Doctors in America”
  • The Late Avon Williams Jr. – first African-American senator elected in Tennessee, political activist and civil rights leader
