With the hectic nature of modern life, it can be easy to forget the frail and uncertain world in which we live. Dependency of finical systems, grocery stores, and electricity are just a few of the numerous elements to society often taken for granted, but which are crucial to survival given most lifestyles.

To allow Sevier County residents a chance to be better prepared in the event of an emergency, two Sevier County Tea Party members are offering a free preparedness workshop Oct. 10 on the third floor of the Sevier County Court House in downtown Sevierville at 6:30 p.m.

“The workshops have always been and always will be free to the public, “said Tea Party Chairman Steve Osborn. “We conduct these workshops simply because we know that most people have become so accustomed to living with conveniences that, if the day were to come when conveniences were not available, they would have difficulty getting through those times.”

Pastor Rob Bremer, who will be leading the workshop alongside Osborn,  has been involved with preparedness since the 1990’s.
