Adding to the recent perils of Chapman Highway, an accident sent two drivers to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Rod Parton, a blue Buick was stopped at a red light on Chapman at the intersection of Burnett Station Road, when a red SUV rear-ended the vehicle.

Witnesses said the impact forced the Buick off of the road.

Both vehicles were crushed from the collision.
