The Maryville College volleyball team evened their season record at 8-8 following a 1-3 weekend at the prestigious Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.

Friday evening saw the Scots drop a pair of grueling five set matches to Randolph Macon and Trevecca.

Against the Yellow Jackets of Randolph Macon, MC lost the first set 18-25 and evened the series with a second set 26-24 come from behind victory. The ODAC school too the third set 20-25 before Maryville forced a fifth and deciding set with a 25-13 fourth set win. Randolph Macon took the match with a 17-15 final set victory.

Teri Lind distributed a team-high 34 assists with her main targets being Kara Strickland (10 Kills) and Kelsey Handel (12 kills). Kristen Sharp had eight kills while Lind and Kristy Newman each added seven kills. Strickland completed a double-double performance with 14 digs while Mallory Bonee (17 digs) and Morgan Hall (12 digs) each helped MC’s defensive effort.
