Now a community tradition, the bi-annual fundraiser held by the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was met with vibrant support.
“Most people are willing to give what they can,” said SVFD Assistant Fire Chief Corky McCarter. “Every little bit helps and we appreciate it.”
SVFD Fire Chief Kevin Nunn said about $13,200 was raised as fire fighters collected money in boots from drivers at the intersection of Chapman Highway and 411.
“Although we didn’t hit our goal of $15,000, we had strong support from the community,” he said.
