All good things must come to an end. That’s what happened to the Seymour Eagles football team as their unbeaten streak ended Sept. 14 after losing to the Jefferson County Patriots 36-14. The Eagles are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the district.
The loss to the Patriots was also Seymour’s first district defeat of the season.
One big factor for the Patriots offense was Dearies Jones who scored two touchdowns of 60 and 80 yards in the first 12 minutes of the game. He ended up with a total of three touchdowns and 264 yards rushing.
The score at that point stood 20-7 Patriots, which is all the points Jefferson County needed to win the game.
