Ed. note: The subject of Our Smokies, Our Future and those who are against the process has been a topic we have reported on for some time. As the story continues to evolve, the Herald felt it would be best to publish a multi-part series in order to provide the community with in-depth coverage.

As Our Smokies, Our Future has become more active in Sevier County, Rob Bremer and others who disapprove of the organization have become more involved in opposing the process.
Bremer and a group of about 50 others attended the various community forums held by OSOF and questioned the motives of the visionary process. Many of their questions relating to the intentions, funding, and origination of OSOF were met with vague responses, yet Bremer and company held steadfast to their belief that OSOF is part of a United Nations plot to rid the world of private property rights under the guise of sustainable development, a master process called Agenda 21.
“Using precisely the same methods of engineered consensus in the so-called Our Smokies Our Future visioning process as Chattanooga, Knoxville, PlanET, Cookeville, Nashville, Oak Ridge, Signal Mountain, Franklin, Shelby County, and Hamilton County,” Bremer said, “OSOF is inarguably, demonstrably the same Agenda 21 plan as in all of these named Tennessee cities and counties.”

True, OSOF is not on the UN sub-contractor membership listing of ICLEI, known as “Governments for Sustainability”. In the formative, “visioning” (“consensus gathering” from the community) stage of this subversive UN process most cities/counties were already members.
In 2008 Knoxville, Chattanooga, Signal Mountain, Gatlinburg. Oak Ridge, and Nashville wee listed as members of UN sub-contractor ICLEI. A few of the other Tennessee cities involved apparently were not members at that time, but most of them have since joined.
Once these local concerned governments “bought in” and adopted this UN, membership was established in ICLEI. Then carbon-dioxide-monitoring software was installed, as were “model” ordinances, zoning regulation and published new modes of governmental operation. All were dispatched to the new Tennessee member governments from ICLEI headquarters in Toronto, Canada.
These dispatches from ICLEI HQ implement UN Agenda 21 and UN Habitat, as noted o the iclei.org website, when you “click” on “Programs.”
For example, to oil this system, stimulus money and federal grants from HUD, work to attract business people of all sorts to “feed at the trough” of 41-borrowed cents of every grant dollar offered as incentives. Therefore, stimulus tax money is buying much of the re-development/re-fitting real estate work that will be done…all of it in cities…and at a time in history when we are witnessing the beginnings of U.S. economic collapse.
The point is, OSOF will join ICLEI if Sevier officials accept what the 60 OSOF prominent citizens present to their unidentified target government officials some time in the next few months.
