For the first time in a long time, the Seymour golf program swept the McNelly-Whaley Sevier County Golf Championship by winning the boys’ and the girls’ competition.
The annual tournament is held at three golf courses, Gatlinburg Country Club, Sevierville Golf Course and Creekside each year and rotates as to which course has the final day. This year, it finished at Creekside, Seymour’s home course.
The defending champions, Seymour Eagles took the 27-hole tournament with a final total of 514. They were followed closely by Kings Academy with a 519, Sevier County 520, Pigeon Forge 525 and Gatlinburg-Pittman 585.

The Eagles led going into the final day and actually picked up one shot on the field with a score of 164 while Kings Academy had 165, Sevier County 169, Pigeon Forge 169 and G-P had a 190.
