Sevier County Tea Party Chairman Steve Osborn (The Herald/ Joe King)

In many ways the Tea Party remains a mystery to supporters of both Leftist and Right-wing politics, but with the Presidential Election looming, the new Chairman of the Sevier County Tea Party wants to make the focus of the group clear.

“Our main focus is to get rid of Obama,” said Sevier County Tea Party Chairman Steven Osborn. “This is the worst President for our nation in my lifetime. Our nation hangs in the balance with this election.”

Osborn said although he is skeptical of Mitt Romney’s liberal-style of governing while serving as Governor of Massachusetts, he and many members of the Tea Party will be supporting the Republican nominee this November.

“We have grievances with both parties, but we believe the Republican Party is best suited to returning the country to a Constitutional government,” he said. “At the Republican Convention they were espousing some Tea Party values.”
