With a successful career as an attorney, and as a judge for the Tennessee Supreme Court, Gary Wade was a clear choice to become the new Chief Justice.
Sworn-in during a ceremony held to honor the event Aug. 29, Wade officially took the oath to uphold the duties and responsibilities of the office in his hometown of Sevierville.
“I think it is very nice and honorable he wants to be sworn-in in his hometown,” said State Representative Elect Dale Carr. “It is a great honor for him and a great honor for us.”
Additionally, State Senator Doug Overbey, who also represents Sevier County and has practiced law himself, is pleased with the choice of Wade for the position.
