The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department Support Services Division would like to expand, and is seeking volunteers. Currently there are seven members in the Division, which provides extra help to the department’s fire fighters during emergencies.

Volunteer Fire Chief Kevin Nunn said the program, currently in its sixth year, grew out of the department’s internal need for support of its fire fighters.

“It is a division that has shown its usefulness,” he said.

The Support Services Division bolsters the volunteer services already offered by providing water, refreshments and shade to fire fighters, as well as performing other non-emergency tasks.
