Adding to the local crime wave that seems to be surfacing throughout the businesses in Seymour, a restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Aug. 11.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. a slim-built man wearing a dark blue hoodie, cargo blue jean shorts, white basketball shoes, and a blue bandana covering his face, entered the Subway restaurant located at 10631 Chapman Hwy. through a side door.
The man then pulled out a gun and demanded the two women working empty their purses. When told they didn’t have their purses, the man shoved the gun into Cydnee Harrel’s chest, one of the two women working at the time.
The robber then opened the cash register, grabbed the money, and upon leaving attempted to grab a cookie that was on a baking tray. The cookie was stuck to the tray and the robber darted out the side door before adding the dessert to his list of stolen goods.
