While many students hardly experience all the preparation that goes into each new school year, administrators at the Seymour schools are briskly preparing for the Aug. 16 start date.

“Teachers and school administrators have been busy in professional development workshops,” said Seymour Primary School Principal Jan Moore. “The office staff is registering new students and assisting staff and other numerous tasks done in order to facilitate a smooth transition into the new school year.”

Moore said one new changes she is excited about is the improvement of the cafeteria food.

“This year, our cafeteria will use a county wide menu which guarantees a healthy breakfast and lunch offering,” she said. “There is fresh mulch on the playgrounds. I’d say we are ready.”
