The Seymour golf team recently split its match with the Jefferson County Patriots as the girls won a close one 93-94 while the boys lost 151-172 at Dandridge Country Club.

After winning their first match of the season the week before, the Eagles weren’t at their best.  Parker Rudder led Seymour with a 40 followed by Peyton Presley with a 42, Justice Murphy 43 and Conner Sharp 47.

“We played the match from the back tees,” said Gary Householder, Seymour’s golf coach.  “We hit the ball plenty long enough but we need to improve form 100 yards in.

“Our lack of a good short game is what drove our scores up.  We need more work on that.”
