As the importance of education grows exponentially with each new generation, local students can look forward to the progress Sevier County School System has made.

During a Tennessee Department of Education ceremony held Monday in Sevierville, the Sevier County Schools District was recognized as one of the top 21 schools out of the 136 public school districts in Tennessee.

“I’m absolutely elated to be recognized for this achievement,” said Sevier County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Debra Cline. “I’m proud of the hard work done by our students and teachers.”

Other area schools systems that received this acclaim were Blount, Claiborne, Fayette, and Loudon.
