While many Federal grants are not designed to benefit an entire community, recent funding awarded to one Seymour institution is likely to prove a useful addition to the area.
“This has not been a quick process,” said Ted Esch, Chairman of the Board for the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department. “It has been at least eight or nine months since we applied for the grant.”
The funding was awarded to the SVFD by Federal Emergency Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant.
