The intersection of Chapman Hwy. and Maryville Hwy. is often thought of as a focal point for Seymour, yet these State managed roads can become dangerous due to heavy traffic flow.
To improve the conditions for motorists, the Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced a plan to repave Maryville Hwy.
“This road was deemed in need of resurfacing due to the age and conditions of the existing asphalt,” said Mark Nagi, Community Relations Officer for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. “Periodic resurfacing is necessary to maintain the overall structure of our roadways and to maintain safe travel ways.
“The last time this section of 411 was paved was in 2000.”
