Seymour senior second baseman Ben Whisler was recently named to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association’s All-State first team as well as the Knoxville News Sentinel All-PrepXtra team.
Whisler will attend Belmont University in Nashville where he will focus on academics majoring in Audio Engineering Technology while leaving baseball as an option.
Last year, Whisler made second team All-State which reflects on his consistency as a baseball player over his high school career.
His senior year Whisler batted .487 and .571 with runners on base. He led the county with nine homeruns, 11 doubles, 43 RBI’s (61 junior year, 104 combined), 36 runs, and only four strikeouts in 118 at bats.
