Great Smoky Mountains National Park saw yet another above-average month of visitation this June.
The park saw 1,202,056 visitors during June2012. This is a 7.2 percent increase as compared with June 2011.
The 2012 year-to-date visitation is up by 11.5 percent which works out to 410,767 more people than during the same time last year.
All of the three main entrances were up during June— Gatlinburg was up 4.3 percent, Townsend was an increase of 4.1 percent, and Cherokee saw the biggest increase with 9.5 percent more visitors.
