With less than one month until Seymour students return to school, a local church is providing a little extra help to needy students in the area.
Seymour United Methodist Church, which is located at the corner of Simmons Rd. and Chapman Hwy., is preparing for their second annual “Back-to-School-Blow-Out” support program.
In addition to providing area students with backpacks full of school supplies, socks, and underwear, haircuts and blood pressure tests will also be provided.
“The haircuts are provided by professional volunteers and the blood pressure tests will be preformed by registered nurses,” said Michelle Hurton, Director of Congregational Care and Out Reach programs.
