Although a lot of work has been accomplished for the construction of the new Seymour Volunteer Fire Department station, there is still a ways to go before the facility will be operational.
The new station, Station 6, is being constructed at the corner of Kimberlin Heights and Boiling Lane, near Johnson University.
“The new station is about 70 percent complete,” said John Linsenbigler, Director of Plant Services for Johnson University, who is spearheading the project. “All the framing is done. We mostly need to work on the interior.”
Electrical work, plumbing, sheetrock hanging, and a sprinkler system must be put in place before station 6 can be fully operational.
