In recent years the TSSAA seems to change its mind as often as the US Attorney General on health warnings.

The reclassification over the past three years has not been popular to say the least with local high school football coaches.  The current “Z-Plan” combines Tennessee high school football teams into three classifications throughout the regular season only to be divided further into six classifications for the post season playoffs.

This plan basically puts much smaller schools with larger schools therefore putting the smaller schools at a distinct disadvantage.

Now the TSSAA is considering going back to the old five classification plan which is generally much more popular with prep coaches.
