The theft of a heat and air unit has landed two men in jail.
Johnny Wade McCarter, 40 of Sevierville, and Mark Lancaster, 38 of Cosby, have both been arrested for their connection with the theft of a heat and air unit at a rental cabin in Sevier County July 8.
According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, a maintenance man from Auntie Belhams Cabin Company notified police after spotting a red Chevrolet truck and two men attempting to load the air unit into the truck at the cabin located on King Branch Road.
Officers arrived, detained the two men and then found where the lines and wires from the unit had been connected at the rental cabin.
