To help students who are unable to participate in school sports due to economic hardships, a local football coach organized a fundraiser in South Knoxville.

John Ogle, who has been coaching football at South-Doyle for more than 20 years, said he began organizing the car show fundraiser a month before the event actually started.

“Some students simply don’t have the money to pay the fee to play,” he said. “I wanted to put together something to help them out.”

Ogle, an automobile enthusiast himself, decided to put on a combination car show and yard sale in hopes of easing some of the financial burden.
