Although numerous laws are in place to tackle the drug problem in Sevier County, it is up to law officers to enforce the legislation and a Seymour constable has been playing an active role to help rid his community of drugs for more than 14 years.
Roger Floyd, one of the two constables for Seymour, has been on the Sevier County drug squad for 12 years.
“When I started on the drug squad marijuana was the big problem,” he said. “Now it is more pharmaceuticals than anything.”
Among other operations that Floyd has been involved with that have reduced marijuana related crime in Seymour, he has regularly gone undercover to purchase the drug.
