When people think about celebrating the Fourth of July a day at the lake, barbeques, and setting off fireworks in the backyard come to mind and with all of the patriotic holiday tents in Seymour it is easy to see why residents are getting excited.

Of all the fireworks sales stops in Seymour the tent on Boyds Creek near the Sevier Lodge has a time proven track record of success.

“We have been selling fireworks in Seymour for about 12 years,” said Tammy Hall, whose mother owns the tent-based business. “So far, it has been about the same last year.”

Although Hall said the economy has hurt the sale of celebratory explosives in general, she said she is expecting things to pick up in the days closer to the holiday.
