As the tumult between the ‘visionary process’ group Our Smokies, Our Future and the Sevier County Tea Party intensifies,  residents have reached out to the County Mayor Larry Waters to get a governmental take on the issue.

The subject of the June 15 meeting was a concern regarding a link between Our Smokies, Our Future and The United Nation’s Agenda 21 platform.

According to many of the people concerned with the process of the public visionary meetings, rezoning due to environmental concerns are a main focus of both Our Smokies, Our Future and Agenda 21.

“Agenda 21 is using the masked appeal of policies for saving the planet and being environmentally sensitive at the local level,” explained Marc Hayes who was a participant at the meeting with Waters. “It is a subversive, incremental transformation of a constitutional republic of individual liberty into a socialist tyranny of controlling every aspect of human existence.”
