An accident that took place at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Chapman Hwy. near the cross street of Henry Haynes Rd. SW resulted in a rollover Tuesday morning.

According to State Trooper Kevin Smith, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south in the right lane on Chapman when the driver, Diana Southard, swerved to avoid a Chevrolet Malibu which was in the left lane and began to merge into the right.

“I’m just thankful to be alive,” Southard said. “If I didn’t have my seatbelt on, I wouldn’t be alive.”

Southard and the driver of the Malibu were reportedly unharmed.
