A special Session Sevier County Commissioners meeting was held July 25 to consider the budget documents.

“This is a maintenance budget,” said Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters. “There is no property tax increase and it keeps departments at the current levels.”

The only notable difference in the budget is the 2.5 percent raise received by county employees and teachers.

“The increase is based on the state increase,” Waters said. “We felt like it was a fair thing to do.”
